Amber Fort Exploration (09:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
The first stop is Amber Fort, a grand hilltop fortress built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh. The fort is a masterpiece of Rajput architecture, blending sandstone and marble into grand courtyards, palaces, and temples.
Inside, you will explore the Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), where kings addressed the people, and the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), decorated with thousands of tiny mirrors that sparkle under even a single ray of light. The fort also houses ornate gates, gardens, and intricate lattice work, all of which showcase the craftsmanship of Rajasthan’s golden era.
From the fort’s ramparts, you will get sweeping views of the Aravalli Hills and the Maota Lake below. This experience sets the tone for the day, immersing you in the royal past of Jaipur.
JalMahal Stop (11:15 AM – 11:45 AM)
On your way back from Amber Fort, you will stop at JalMahal, the famous “Water Palace” situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. The palace appears to float on water and is one of the most photographed landmarks in Jaipur.
While entry inside the palace is not permitted, the view from the lakeside promenade is enchanting. You can spend time capturing photographs, feeding pigeons, or simply enjoying the calm waters before heading towards the bustling city.
City Palace Visit (12:15 PM – 01:30 PM)
Next, you will visit the City Palace, which still serves as the residence of Jaipur’s royal family. The palace complex is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, with courtyards, gardens, and museums that preserve centuries of heritage.
Highlights include the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, and the armoury museum showcasing weapons, costumes, and textiles of the royals. Don’t miss the grand gates decorated with peacock motifs and delicate frescoes. Walking through these courtyards gives you a sense of Jaipur’s living history and traditions.
Lunch Break (01:30 PM – 02:30 PM)
Around midday, you will enjoy a lunch break at a recommended local restaurant. You can try traditional Rajasthanithali with dishes like dal baatichurma, gattekisabzi, and kersangri, or opt for international cuisines depending on your preference.
Jantar Mantar Observatory (02:45 PM – 03:30 PM)
After lunch, you will proceed to the JantarMantar, a UNESCO World Heritage site built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. This observatory contains the world’s largest stone sundial and a collection of 19 architectural instruments used for astronomical calculations.
Your driver will guide you to explore the unique instruments, such as the SamratYantra, Ram Yantra, and Jai Prakash Yantra, which were used to study time, celestial bodies, and planetary positions centuries ago. It is an experience that combines science with history in an open-air museum setting.
Hawa Mahal Photo Stop (03:45 PM – 04:15 PM)
No visit to Jaipur is complete without seeing the HawaMahal, also known as the “Palace of Winds.” This pink sandstone structure was built in 1799 with 953 small windows, designed so that royal women could watch city life without being seen. Though entry inside is optional, most travellers prefer admiring its honeycomb façade from the outside. The sunlight falling on the façade makes for a spectacular photograph.
Local Bazaars & Shopping (04:30 PM – 05:30 PM)
Towards the evening, you will explore Jaipur’s colourful markets. Popular stops include Johari Bazaar for jewellery, Tripolia Bazaar for bangles, and Bapu Bazaar for textiles and handicrafts. These markets are vibrant and filled with local artisans selling their crafts. Shopping here allows you to take a piece of Jaipur home, whether it is a gemstone ring, hand-block printed fabric, or traditional juttis.
Return & Drop-off (05:45 PM – 06:30 PM)
As the day comes to an end, your driver will drop you back at your hotel. The full day tour concludes with memories of Jaipur’s forts, palaces, lakes, and markets, all experienced in the comfort of your private cab.
